A million miles apart but still together

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Skype.

I know that I’m really fortunate to have most of my friends and family close to me. As I get older, and as my children continue to change and grow every day, I’m even more grateful to have many of the people I love at arm’s length.

That said, we do have some special friends and family members across the country that we dearly miss. Unfortunately, we can’t travel to see them as often as we would like, but we stay close by talking regularly via Skype. You really just can’t beat being able to see the smiles of the people you love—and even when there are states or oceans between you.

One fun thing the kids love to do on Skype is to sing and dance, so, I point the camera at them and turn on some music. It’s pretty entertaining for our friends and family!

Staying Close to the People I Love

Speaking of love and distance, I just adore this video featuring a clever 10-year-old girl named Julia.

Julia lives in LA but stays close with her family—particularly her best friend Marina—in Brazil. Skype allows these friends to maintain their bond, and something that Julia says in the video really resonated with me. She said, “Even though we’re a million miles apart, we’re still together.”

Togetherness is what it’s all about, really. Even if we can’t be with our friends and family, we can still stay in touch and stay close with Skype, and I just love that.
