We can talk about what we see, what we have done, what we want to do – and of course we can eat good things and always have plenty to drink as traveling tends to dehydrate us.

It’s interesting, but my kids are very quiet on trips. That’s definitely a plus.

Designed to harmonize with mountain, lake, and seashore, Maine’s state park system is as varied as the state’s landscape. Mountain trails, lakeside picnic tables, ocean beaches. In Maine, there are 32 state parks and we hope to visit them all eventually. 8 down- 24 to go! How many does your state have? My family is keeping a life list!

Another great thing we love doing as a family while traveling is when we stop for a bit to eat we pop in a movie and watch it while eating. Gives everyone a nice break and also get to watch a movie. Sometimes we even stop at Redbox and pick a special one out.

When traveling toll roads I keep a Ziploc bag of change. The kids take turns counting out the correct toll money…. but everytime we cross a bridge the bag moves to the next person! LOL Sometimes its a well worn bag at days end!

Its true that travel is not about the destination but about the route you take to get there! We like backroads and side trips so theres always something new to see.
