I have wanted to purchase a toaster oven for years. It’s just one of those things that somehow, I never got around to doing. I’m really happy that I can mark that goal off my list, because thanks to Calphalon, I am now the proud owner of the Calphalon XL Digital Convection Oven!
The Calphalon XL Digital Convection Oven is a brand new product, and my first thought when opening its box last week was, wow, this is a beautiful little kitchen appliance.
I am a huge fan of Calphalon’s clean and simple design. This toaster oven fits perfectly on my counter, and I love that it matches my other Calphalon pieces so perfectly.

What I love about the Calphalon XL Digital Convection Oven
In the photo above, you can see the Mini Chicken & Mushroom Quesadillas that I made for Evan earlier this week.
I found that this toaster oven preheats in almost no time, cooks quickly and evenly, and is incredibly easy to operate.
The cast stainless steel handle is also unique. Double riveted for durable performance, the handle also stays completely cool when the oven is in use.
The digital display is a major perk — I love being able to tell exactly how hot the unit is, and it also has a really handy timer.
This oven is a really nice size, and is bigger than most toaster ovens I’ve seen on the shelves in stores, making it perfect for a variety of dishes. I am already thinking about the pizzas we’ll bake in this oven!

Now that I own the Calphalon XL Digital Convection Oven, I’m not sure how I’ve made it so long without a product like this. I would like to win this for my sister. She just got divorce and has to start over. She has a little one bedroom apartment that she shares with her toddler… She Has share custody with her ex, so she only has her son half the time so she rarely cooks. Oh.My.God. We used to have a $30 toaster oven and used it all the time, despite the fact that it was hard to control the heat accurately. We moved and had to get rid of it and the past couple years I have been looking to get a new one. Unfortunately having 2 babies in 2 years puts a little dent in your free money. If I won this I would pee myself. Probably really, since those babies have left me with major incontinence. ;)

I’m trying to wean our household off the microwave, but hate the idea of heating up the big oven all the time to warm things. This would be a perfect solution for that, and also keep me from heating up the whole house when I want to bake something small or reheat something . I try to keep as green a house as possible so most days we only turn the a/c on in the evening so we can sleep comfortably. The less heat in the house here in Central Florida the less energy used and wasted.
