A Tea Party With My Best Girl
I’d like to thank RITZ Crackers for sponsoring this post.
Being the baby of the family can be tough. In fact, I’ve recently noticed my daughter struggling harder than she should have to for attention.
As a wife, mom of two, and business owner, I often feel like I’m falling short.
While there are no perfect parents, sometimes you just need to pull the emergency brake on life. Sometimes, you need a little girl time with your best girl.
That’s exactly what I did got this week when I set up a special tea party for myself, Kara, and her rag-tag crew of baby dolls and stuffed animals.
Girl time with your daughter may not look like this. Maybe your special girl prefers hiking, or playing soccer, or playing her favorite board game.
Whatever it is that your daughter (or son) enjoys doing, do that.
Spend some quality one-on-one time with your kiddo, and don’t forget to have an amazing snack handy.
Our tea party cuisine included these fancy (but simple to make) chicken salad topped RITZ Crackers. With just a few ingredients and less than five minutes, I was able to make a truly delightful little tea party snack fit for a princess. My princess!
Check out the fun video below to see exactly how to make this yummy snack.
Because this was such a simple recipe, Kara was even able to help me make it. She stirred all the ingredients together, and I think her tea party food tasted even better because she felt so proud of her work in the kitchen.
I really thought that I was giving Kara a treat by throwing her a special tea party, but it also turned out to be so rewarding for me as well. It felt great to impose a time out on myself and to just make some memories with my daughter.
I’m not going to lie, having a platter of these delicious little chicken salad topped RITZ Crackers and some juice in a tea cup was pretty great, too.
As it turns out, Kara’s baby dolls and stuffed animals didn’t have much of an appetite. Don’t worry, the remaining chicken salad topped RITZ Crackers didn’t go to waste, believe me. :)
It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, but it’s the simple moments of joy like my tea party with Kara that brings it all into perspective. It’s all about loving, being loved, and enjoying every moment we have together as a family. Even the crazy-busy ones!
I sure do love this kid.?
Tea party or not, these chicken salad topped RITZ Crackers are crazy-good and would make a wonderful appetizer or snack anytime. Grab the recipe below and be sure to pin this post so you don’t forget about it!

Chicken Salad Topped RITZ Crackers
A delicious appetizer that takes just minutes to make!
- 1 sleeve RITZ Crackers
- 1 12.5-ounce can chunk white chicken breast
- 1/2 cup red grapes, quartered
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp. green onion, chopped (optional)
- salt + pepper to taste
- Combine chicken, mayonnaise, grapes, onions, and any preferred seasonings (I added just a touch of salt and pepper) in a medium bowl.
- Use a small scoop or teaspoon to add the chicken salad mixture to the top of RITZ Crackers. Make as many as you would like and reserve leftover chicken salad for later use!
