The Delicious Art of Earl Grey
This post is sponsored by Twinings. Opinions are my own.
I’m quite sure that I’ve told you guys how much of a tea-junkie I am, right?
I look forward to shrugging off the day’s stress and sitting down with a good book and a hot cup of tea in the evenings. It’s one of life’s little indulgences that I’m really grateful for.
Needless to say, when Twinings recently asked me to try their new Lavender, Jasmine and Extra Bold Earl Grey flavors it was an easy answer. YES PLEASE!
I didn’t really start loving tea until my college years, but it’s a fondness that has stuck with me ever since. In fact, I’m a bit of a tea collector and I have a whole cabinet in our kitchen that’s filled with different types and flavors of tea. My husband tends to get a little frustrated by my growing collection.
Even though I keep so many different types of tea around, I always find myself reaching for a few favorites. Twinings Earl Grey (and now their new Earl Grey flavors) are certainly some of my most reached for teas!
If you’re a tea fan like me, you’re going love this fascinating little nugget of history about Early Grey and Twinings.
Twinings classic Earl Grey tea was first blended by Richard Twining in 1831, when Prime Minister Charles Grey asked him to replicate a tea he once received by a Chinese Mandarin. The Prime Minister gave his royal approval, which resulted in the creation of the first Earl Grey blend.
To this day Twinings Earl Grey boxes are signed by descendants of Mr. Charles Grey!
Pretty interesting, right?
Twinings teas are sourced and custom blended to provide the perfect balance of taste, flavor and aroma.
I’m already a big fan of Earl Grey tea, so I was excited to try these new flavors. I have to say that they smelled so amazing and tasted even better.
My favorite of the new flavors is the Jasmine (the scent is heavenly and it has a touch of sweetness), but I quite enjoyed the Lavender and Extra Bold flavors as well.
It’s tough to decide on just one flavor… and it’s a good thing I don’t need to!
I’ll be keeping all three flavors around the house.
Twinings classic Earl Grey tea is also available in the following formats:
- Organic & Fair Trade™ certified
- Loose tea
- K-Cup® packs
I just bought a fancy tea maker so I’m definitely picking up some of the loose tea to try as well!
If you haven’t tried these new Twinings Earl Grey flavors, you MUST!
