25,203Sam’s Club Will It Grill Challenge & Giveaway *
While it is still a little chilly here in Ohio, we’ve still been eating a lot of food from the grill!
Recently, Sam’s Club invited me to join their “Will it Grill?” challenge! I decided that some delicious fruit would be fantastic on the grill.
I found this recipe for Mixed Berry Hobo Packs with Grilled Pound Cake on FoodandWine.com recently, and I’ve been dying to try it. I mean, berries and pound cake — grilled? With a couple big scoops of vanilla ice cream? Yes. Oh, yes.
I was able to pick up all of my fresh fruit, and other grilling goodies at my local Sam’s Club. I buy fruit at Sam’s Club a lot, it always seems super fresh.
It looks like the pound cake is a little over-grilled in this photo, but we found that it actually tasted better when it was really toasty. The extra crisp in the bowl made the dessert delicious.
I also had a fresh pineapple on hand, and decided to coat it with a little honey and lemon juice and grill that too. My son loved the grilled pineapple, and we plan to try this again at our next cookout.
The grilled berries, of course, were enclosed within a foil packet. They only need to be on the grill for a few minutes, you’ll know they are done when they start to sizzle!
The warm weather conjures up images of brats and burgers, but Sam’s Club is inspiring families to add some sizzle to backyard barbecues by shining the spotlight on favorite fare and unexpected grilling ingredients. To help spark creative outdoor dining, Sam’s Club is inviting Members and non-Members from across the country to sample some of the best grilling options during its annual “Spring Taste of Sam’s Club.” The free event, taking place Friday, April 27 to Sunday, April 29 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., will showcase must-have merchandise and grilling essentials to create unforgettable spring gatherings.

Yum, yum!! I love grilled pineapple! I’ve never tried grilling berries, and never THOUGHT about grilling pound cake, heck, didn’t even know that was possible! You have now opened my mind! We love to grill all types of veggies on our grill. Our favorites are red peppers and asparagus! We also love, love, love, quadruple love grilling scallops (they melt in your mouth!)

As for unusual food grilled, pretty gross but my brothers, hubby and sons are big into grilling so probably grilled wild duck breasts.
