I’m a Slim-Fast Ambassador
How much weight did you gain when you were pregnant for your kid(s)?
I am one of those lucky ladies who manage to have severe morning sickness but STILL put on a lot of weight. I gained about sixty pounds with each of my pregnancies. Yeah, whoa.
I’ve managed to lose some weight naturally since giving birth to Kara in December, and I am sure breastfeeding has contributed to this natural shedding of pounds as well.
I’m not seven months post-partum, though, and I am ready to kick that last 20 lbs. This won’t give me the body of a supermodel (I think it would take sorcery for that), but it will help me feel better physically and emotionally.
I’m really excited to be entering into this weight loss journey with Slim-Fast, and I’m proud to be a Slim-Fast Ambassador. Keep reading to find out more about my summer slim down goals and about the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 plan!
Have you seen Slim-Fast lately?
Your memories of Slim-Fast might be like mine. I can remember those familiar old Slim-Fast cans lining my grandma’s fridge when I was a kid. She was a big believer in the program!
Slim-Fast has changed a lot, and the shakes now come in cute, curvaceous plastic jugs now. They are so easy to pick up and grab when you need some energy. For me, I am so busy during the first part of the day tending to the kids, this is a way for me to actually get some nutrition. You know, instead of a handful of Goldfish.
About the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 plan
With the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 plan I have access to three delicious snacks, 2 shakes or meal-bars, and 1 sensible dinner.
As you know, I am breastfeeding. I consulted my doctor about Slim-Fast before embarking on this journey. She told me that as long as I was staying in the 1,800-ish calories range and staying hydrated, I am golden. I supplement the plan with some extra fruits and veggie snacks to ensure my milk supply stays up.
Of course, you will want to consult your physician (like I did) before starting the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 Plan or any other weight loss program.
Breastfeeding burns on average 200-500 calories per day, so even without a weight loss program you are burning extra calories. A woman who is breastfeeding should consume at least 1,800 calories a day and achieve a gradual weight loss of 1 to 1 1/2 pounds per week.
My summer slim down goals
So, Ideally I’d love to drop 20 lbs, but my shorter term goal is to lose 1 lb. per week until September 10th. That’s the date we have a family photo session scheduled!
Stay tuned, I’m going to update you on my experiences with the plan over the past few weeks, and if you’re wondering… yes, I am seeing results already!
