Influence is fascinating
As a blogger, I hear the word influence tossed around a lot.
It’s true, we’re all influenced by the people around us. We’re also influenced by the media and current pop culture, among other things.
When I really stop to think about who influences me, I have to say that I really am influenced quite a bit by my blogging peers, my friends and family on Facebook, my Twitter stream and yes — my what I see on Pinterest.
Because I rarely watch television, the information that I take in and process comes almost completely from the internet. Even though I may not be conscious of it, I am really influenced by what I see filtering in from my social media profiles.
As an example, a few of my online friends have been writing about nail polish a lot lately. I also started following a few nail polish blogs and nail polish boards on Pinterest. Then, low and behold… I felt compelled to buy 20 bottles of nail polish and paint my finger nails!
Influence is really a fascinating subject to me!
