Joovy Ergo Caboose Review *
I am no stranger to strollers. In fact, I’ve owned about seven strollers since my first baby was born in 2009, and because I love being active with my kids, I’m always happy to try the latest and greatest strollers.
Latest and greatest really describes the stroller I’ve been testing this month. Parents, meet the big, bold, and beautiful Joovy Ergo Caboose!
The Joovy Ergo Caboose is my first double stroller. I can’t tell you how excited I was to get both of my kids on the road — well — sidewalk that is.
This stroller offers a traditional seat in the front that will hold a baby as young as 4 months, as well as a bench in the back, or the option for older children to ride standing. I love these options for older toddlers and kids who may not want to be strapped down in a “baby seat.”
The super comfortable back seat also flips open, giving you access to the storage basket.
Is it comfortable for the kids?
Of course, Kara can’t tell me if she’s comfortable up front but the enormous grin on her face tells me that she is. When I asked Evan how he felt in the back seat he replied, “It’s pretty good, Mom!”
We are also using Joovy’s Deluxe Seat Covers on our Ergo Caboose. The seat covers are very soft and cushy, I would say that they are definitely a must-have accessory if you are considering purchasing this stroller.
The enormous and well-designed canopies are also impressive, offering full sun coverage. This is a big perk for me, as most of our other strollers really fail to provide a shaded ride in particularly sunny conditions.
How does it handle?
While the Joovy Ergo Caboose is a large stroller (it is a double, after all) it is actually 15%-20% lighter than other double strollers in its class, weighing in at only 29 lbs.
In spite of the Ergo Caboose’s size, it steers and turns with very little effort. It feels really light, responsive, and generally offers an easy and comfortable ride for the person pushing the stroller.
The Joovy Ergo Caboose is quite simple to fold and you will be amazed at just how small this stroller becomes when in the folded position.
Fabulous details worth mentioning
One thing I love about the front seat in the Ergo Caboose is the swing out tray. This makes loading your little one in the front seat much easier. When your child gets a little older and doesn’t require a tray for toys and drinks up front, you can attach the optional cup holders instead.
The storage basket in the bottom of the stroller is large enough to stash plenty necessities!
My thoughts overall
The Joovy Ergo Caboose is a well-made stroller that is easy to handle and simple to store. More than that, though, this is just one really attractive and functional piece of baby gear.
This is the stroller I will be taking with me on trips to the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium the next time we visit, or on other outdoor family adventures because it is comfortable for both kids, offers great protection from the elements, and has plenty of room to store things we pick up along the way.
You can purchase the Joovy Ergo Caboose at Diapers.com right now for $379.99 with free shipping.
I love this stroller, and have become a real fan of Joovy. To celebrate, Joovy is offering one Dear Crissy reader a $100 Gift Certificate to be used on Joovy.com. You can put this toward the purchase of a stroller or any other item you would like to pick up from Joovy! Good luck!
