Well, she’s here, and she is beautiful.
Kara Elizabeth Page was born on December 14th, (the day after my birthday), at 11:11 a.m., weighing 7 lbs., 7 oz. and was 20″ long.
Notice the little birthmark on her wrist? How precious is that?
I went to my regular OB appointment on December 13th, and found that once again, my blood pressure was high. After doing an NST, and continuing to monitor my blood pressure that morning, my doctor decided to send me to the hospital for closer monitoring.
I wasn’t sure at that time if I would be induced, or not, but after a couple hours, my doctor decided that starting a slow induction would be best.
Because I was shooting for a VBAC, the induction had to be entered into gently to avoid risk of uterine rupture.
I will be posting a full birth story when I am able to collect my thoughts, but, I will say that I was able to have my VBAC, and the difference in the recovery vs. a c-section is so incredible. I feel pretty good, and aside from a little jaundice that we’re getting past now, Kara is a perfect, perfect jewel.
More later, but… look at this angel. Babies are truly a miracle.

I had my daughter naturally, and honestly I was very upset to have to have my son via c-section (he was completely sideways, and an external version as well as two weeks worth of “at-home” turning methods didn’t work), so I completely understand your joy at being able to have your daughter naturally. :)

I was not only excited about the recovery time when I had mine, but the feeling of accomplishment- now I know what it felt like (it satisfied a feeling of completion in the cycle of birth).
And I am quite jealous and brought to tears, that you have a daughter… I want one so badly- I have three sons (it looks doubtful). : /

Congratulations! Babies truly are a miracle. Treasure this time with her, do whatever you have to. Mine is only 3 months old and I feel like I just blinked one day & he was no longer my tiny little newborn. I miss it terribly already. It seems like just yesterday I had him. They grow up waay too fast. She is just precious, enjoy her as much as you can!

She is so precious! Both my children had to be induced because of blood pressure, so I understand how you felt. Being able to give birth naturally is such an amazing feeling and recovery is so much better. Congrats!

Congrat…. She really is beautiful…. Also want to put out there there is nothing wrong with c-sections. Does not make you any less of a women or mother. Some times things happen and if it is the best for both there is nothing wrong caring anough for your baby to allow someone to cut you to get that baby out. Also what a time to be born 11:11 can’t remember what that stands for at the moment but also a birth mark means she was kissed by a angle as she was coming out. She is special as im sure you know already.

Oh my, she certainly is a beautiful baby. God Bless this little creation. Congrats to you and your family and on a successful VBAC. My sister had one with her 5th child and it was also a great success. It is nice to know that it is an option for moms. I had a c-section with my son and I have to say they are no fun.

Congrats on your miracle! I’m happy that you were able to have a VBAC with her. I wasnt able to with my second but I tried!! 36 hours of labor later my doc decided we should probably take it as a sign lol. Babies are wonderful and I hope you enjoy her. Have a very Merry Christmas!!
