Making Strides Against Breast Cancer *

Sadly, nearly everyone has been impacted by breast cancer in some way. Whether you know a friend or relative who has struggled with the disease, or you have been affected personally by breast cancer, it’s definitely an issue that is near and dear to many hearts.

As I inch further into my 30′s, I think often about my own breast health. I perform monthly self breast exams, and soon enough, I’ll be going for my yearly mammograms. This is so vitally important, and if you’re a woman who is reading and you haven’t done your monthly self exam, I urge you to take a few moments out of your busy day and DO THAT — right now — go!

Have you heard about ACS’s Making Strides initiative? This is such an amazing program, and one that I am proud to support.

American Cancer Society (ACS) is working very hard to fight breast cancer with their Making Strides campaign. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the American Cancer Society’s nationwide series of walking events to raise funds and awareness to end breast cancer.

  1. Crissy,
I haven’t heard of ACS’s Making Strides initiative, so thank you for this post!

I haven’t personally been touched by breast cancer. I am humbled and respectful of that freedom. I do know 2 amazing ladies who have battled breast cancer and won. They are my kind of super hero!

I had cancer six years ago- I found it myself-most women do- 1 out of 8 women will get cancer-depending on how fast you find it or when your mamogram finds it-if you are in the shower do the breast exam often -I was always tired -busy life -is how I explained it to everyone. If anyone in your family had cancer -go earlier- an aunt, your mom -a cousin -don’t wait till 40. Find a group to join. Everyone around you is sad-find a group that is dealing with all the scary stuff that makes you laugh-sometime scream and keeps you going. I was lucky -I found one of these groups!
