Times are truly changing in my household this fall with my 4-year-old, Evan, entering preschool.
It’s an exciting phase, but, I’m also finding that our new rushed schedule means I need to take every opportunity I can find to save time and make our routine as efficient as possible.
Since I’m not exactly the queen of organization or time management (more like the princess or procrastination!) it’s important that I make simple but practical changes to accommodate our busier days.
To save time on the morning rush, I try to prepare for our day the night before. Believe it or not, just pulling out clothing for the kids the night before, making sure Evan’s backpack is ready, and planning lunches for the kids saves me an incredible amount of time!
Like most 4-year-old children, Evan is a pretty picky eater, so, I do my best to make his lunches fun, healthy and delicious.
I like to use a lunch box with compartments to keep his food separate, because having the different food items touching each other would be a disaster in my son’s mind! I fill the box with fresh fruit, veggies, and cute cut-out sandwiches (it’s stars this month) to make his meal interesting.
I finish the box with my favorite quick lunch items: Mott’s® Snack & Go Natural Applesauce pouches and Mott’s® For Tots Apple Juice beverage. These grab-and-go lunch choices from Mott’s are a no-brainer and Evan absolutely loves them.
You just can’t beat quick and tasty products that are also packed with vitamin C.
Kara and I end up doing a lot of rushing around during the day while Evan is in school, so I usually pop a Mott’s® Snack & Go Natural Applesauce pouch in my purse for her too. It’s a great option when your child needs a quick snack to refuel while you’re out running errands.
While our days are definitely more hectic, I know that I’ll settle in to the new routine soon enough. I’ll probably never be a master of time management, but, thanks to a few easy changes and clever products, I’m getting there!
