My backyard oasis

This summer has been really fabulous for our family so far, partly due to the fact that we have really transformed our backyard into an area where we can really play and also relax as a family.

We have a small deck on the back of our house and we’ve worked really hard to turn this area (while not huge) into a space that is really beautiful and functional for us. We love our Kenmore grill and the comfortable dining table and chairs give us an area to eat my husband’s famous burgers in comfort!

It’s been a scorcher this summer, so we’re thankful that we have the shade of our backyard trees to keep us relatively comfortable in the back yard.

When we’re not lounging on the back deck or enjoying food from the grill, we’re playing in the yard with the kids.

This summer we got an amazing trampoline for the backyard, and I’m really not sure who enjoys it more, me or my two-year-old! I forgot how much fun a trampoline could be — our entire family has been having a blast.

We do have a few finishing touches to put on our backyard. We need to pick up some lighting since we’ve been sitting out in the evening, and we’ve also been discussing a fire pit for the yard so we can enjoy some delicious s’mores during the late summer and fall.

I can’t believe that we’re in the middle of July already, but I’m thankful for the great summer we’ve had so far.

Now that I have shared what turns my backyard into my perfect summer oasis, I want to know what you’ve done to transform your backyard into your oasis. One of my lucky readers will win a $25 Sears gift card! Giveaway is over.
