My Pregnancy: 6 Weeks *

How sad is it that I am already losing the motivation to make weekly pregnancy symptoms updates at just 6 weeks? This is mostly because I’ve spent the better part of this week dealing with terrible morning sickness, which is really more like morning, noon, and night sickness.

I’ve also been incredibly exhausted by about 9:00 p.m. every night, and instead of staying awake to try and tackle the work I now have piling up, I have been going to bed early, because I just can’t fight the fatigue.

I am happy to report, however, that my Dr. prescribed me a great pill for nausea, that is definitely taking the edge off, and allowing me to have moments of relief.

I certainly hope the next 4 weeks go quickly, still counting down to that first ultrasound.

  3. So happy for you…well not the nausea part but I know you think it’s worth it too. We’re 20 weeks along and after two boys are expecting a GIRL! It’s fun to have a blog friend to go through this with.

  4. Sorry about the nausea, really hope the medicine helps!!! Are you guys going to find out the gender when it comes time??

I’m so glad I’m finally out of the fatigue stage… at least for the 2nd trimester. I’m not so patiently waiting for our ultrasound. All the old wives tales say girl, my Will swears it’s a girl, and I feel like it’s a girl…

  5. Did you know….

Morning sickness increases (or usually arrives) around 5/6 weeks because your progesterone levels are increasing. Your progesterone levels increase when the placenta begins to develop. Placenta development is a very good thing… means the pregnancy is progressing as it should.

Sometimes increasing your protein intake helps, sometimes ginger helps…. or just hibernate. :)

I was sick with all of my pregnancies. With my twins I thought it was NEVER going to to away. Hang in there, I know this part stinks!

  6. Unfortunately, my morning sickness hit me at 6 weeks with both pregnancies. It stayed throughout the first one and dwindled off with #2. I hope you get through this stage quickly, and it does go away.
I definitely know it is NOT a fun thing to go through.
Rest as much as you can! It takes a LOT of energy to grow a baby!

My thoughts are with you. With my first I too had the morning, noon, night sickness. Actually lost weight in my first trimester! Hope it goes by quickly. Not scientific, but my prediction is that this baby is a girl :)

  13. Oh man, I am not looking forward to the nausea. I had that with my last pregnancy. At 5 weeks I have not had any nausea yet. With my last pregnancy it did not hit until my 7th week and lasted until 20 weeks. Hoping for a smoother sail this time.
What did you take for the nausea this time?
