Safety 1st Prograde No Touch Thermometer Review *

If I do a visual scan of the baby items currently in our living room, I can count three with the name Safety 1st visible. There are certain brands that as Moms we return to time and again. For our family, Safety 1st is certainly a staple, which is why I was thrilled to receive their new ProGrade No Touch Thermometer for review recently. Keep reading, because Safety 1st is going to give one of you a $59.99 value Safety 1st ProGrade No Touch Thermometer as well!

With Evan being our first born, we were probably a little overly concerned with his general health and well-being. When he cried, we had no idea if it was diaper-related, hunger, fatigue, or something else. There were many times that we wanted to confirm that he didn’t have a fever, but found that using a standard thermometer was really difficult with a screaming baby. Now that he’s older, it’s even harder to get a good temperature, because his fits include flailing and kicking! The ProGrade No Touch Thermometer from Safety 1st is excellent for Mom’s like me, who are frequent temperature-checkers, because it means I don’t have to make my child uncomfortable in the least to get a good reading. This means if your child is sick, you can check his temperature through the night without having to wake him up. Anything sort of contraption that keeps me from having to wake my kid up from a nap, or through the night, is a winner in my book.

I found the instructions for use with the Safety 1st ProGrade No Touch Thermometer very easy to follow, and the thermometer works using a beeping system that alerts you when you have the device held at the proper distance, allowing you to adjust until you get it right. It just takes a few seconds to find the right position, and take the reading.

Another feature of this thermometer that I love, is that it not only has a mode for taking a person’s temperature, but it also has a setting to take the temperature of bath water, food, or even formula. I really wish I would have had this product when Evan was a newborn. In fact, the ProGrade No Touch thermometer would make a great gift for any expecting mother. Trust me, you’ll want an easy way to test how hot that bath water is the first time you put your newborn in it!

While I focused my review on the ProGrade No Touch Thermometer as a baby care item, this is just a great thermometer for all of the members of your family. It is accurate, easy to use, and truly useful for parents of infants and young children. While I love to find new and interesting items to purchase online, when it comes to something as important as taking my baby’s temperature, I’m happy to choose a product from Safety 1st, a trusted brand in my home.

How would you like to win one for your family?

Disclosure: Safety 1st provided me with a ProGrade No Touch Thermometer for review, however, the opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. No compensation was received for this review.

I think this thing looks cool! But I have an almost 4yr old and a newly 1yr old and its almost impossible to take their temps. My older kid had the swine flu back in October and it was such a pain to take his temp to watch it, we tried under the arm and got a reading of 101 something, after fighting with him and could only get a reading for 30sec not the full minute and took him to the doc (before we knew he had h1n1) and found out it was 104.5. Something like this would’ve been soo helpful back then and even now with a teething 1yr old

  86. Previously, we used the ear thermometer in conjunction with the run-of-the-mill oral thermometer, that is until my darling Boo thought she would take her own temperature in her ear with the oral one… After the 2+ hour wait for emergency care (yes, she perforated her ear drum) we tossed ALL oral thermometers! It was a horrible situation! I’m thrilled that something like this is now available because Boo #2 is currently baking and I certainly do not want to relive that scare!

My son doesn’t sit still and this would be a great reliable way to get his temp when I need to

I have a three year old granddaughter who spends the night every Saturday evening and all day Sunday and believe or not, I don’t even have a thermometer…I’m a really terrible Nana.

I would love to win this for my new grandbaby. I think it is important to catch a fever early and new parents sometimes have difficulty doing that.

  139. I would love this thermometer! I have 3 wiggly boys and this would be perfect–no fighting to be still and no “squirm containment factor.” :)

  142. I think this is a great product. Our first child is due in a few weeks and I am terrified of not being able to take a good temp. Winning this product would solve that problem for me!

  146. My child screams when the doctor tries to take her temp under the arm! Can you imagine? I think it would be funny to take her temp and she not even know what is going on! Weird huh?
