It’s time for an update on my weight loss journey with Slim-Fast, and I’m happy to report that I have lost 5 lbs. so far!

It’s really amazing how much of a difference a 5 lb. loss can make. I’ve noticed that my jeans aren’t as close to cutting off my circulation (haha), and the best part about dropping 5 lbs. is that it really motivates you go move forward — or at least it motivates me.

Keep reading to find out how you can win one of three fabulous beach-themed prize packs from Slim-Fast!

I really thought that I would be more interested in the meal and snack bars from Slim-Fast, but I’m actually finding that the shakes are my favorite part of the plan.

Also, don’t forget breastfeeding burns on average 200-500 calories per day, so even without a weight loss program you are burning extra calories. A woman who is breastfeeding should consume at least 1,800 calories a day and achieve a gradual weight loss of 1 to 1 1/2 pounds per week.

My family and I were planning a summer vacation which included beach time so I wanted to make sure I was swimming suit ready. For me it was all about carb portion control. I am a major carb addict. Yes, I can admit it. I cut my carbs to the actual serving size. I also started using my kids’ little cartoon design plates because they are smaller and it made it appear that I had a fuller plate. The last step was increasing my veggie intake. I lost 13 pounds in just over a month. I’m still a size 12/14 but it made me feel better about myself. I would love to get down to a 10!

I have been working out atleast 4 days a week… I’ve also been going on a lot of walks and bike rides with the kids. I’ve been making an effort to stack less on unhealthy foods… more fresh fruits and veggies.
