Tips for managing back-to-school chaos

The day is almost here. Evan starts preschool in just a couple weeks and as I look back on the past four years it just amazes me that we’re here already. We’re here.
Evan’s preschool will be just two hours per day, four days a week. Honestly, the schedule is actually just a big inconvenience for me. I would have preferred fewer days, and the way things are I am just going to be driving all day getting him to and from school. It’s not ideal, but, it’s what we’ve got!
I’ll also be managing Kara at home during the day as well as trying to get a little of my work done, so, there will be some changes to our daily routine. Following are a few tips we’ll be following to help the day flow easier when school starts!
1. Setting reminders: I tend to forget even the most important events and I know it’s only going to get worse when school chaos starts. I am going to be vigilant about plugging important dates, deadlines, and reminders into my smart phone so I’m alerted with those important notes throughout the hectic day.
2. Meal planning: I tend to prepare meals on the fly, but with my daily routine getting a major shake-up soon, I know that I’ll need to plan meals ahead of time to stay on track.
3. Having a sense of humor: Having a busy day isn’t the worst thing in the world. By a LONG shot. I am making an effort to be less stressed over the small things and to just roll with the punches. I just want this school year to be awesome for Evan, so, I need to suck-up my stress over the details!
Speaking of smartphones (and I do, often!) Sprint is having an awesome Buy One Get One promotion for the HTC One right now! If you’re due for an upgrade or just want to get a new phone, be sure to check it out. Everyone needs an amazing smartphone! If you’re the mom of a teen, you can keep one phone for yourself and send the second one with your kid. Best mom ever, right?
