Travel Snack Style: Keep It Simple, Keep it Healthy
I’m proud to be working with CVS Pharmacy to help spread the word about #BetterHealthMadeEasy and how to #FindYourHealthy. All opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.
When it comes to preparing for a family travel adventure it can be difficult to check every to-do item off your list. Add a couple kids into the mix and let’s face it, chaos is bound to ensue!
Traveling with kids is so rewarding, but it’s important to be prepared for anything. I’m particularly careful when packing our travel snack bag that I have delicious and better-for-you snacks available to help keep bellies satisfied along the way.
Eating healthy while traveling isn’t always easily, and it can be tempting to fall into the trap of buying a bunch of unhealthy foods. Don’t do it!
Instead, swing by your local CVS Pharmacy before you hit the road, set sail or take off. CVS serves as a one-stop-shop for travel essentials, including an expanded assortment of on-the-go healthier snack and grocery items. With the generous mix of products under the exclusive Gold Emblem abound and Gold Emblem product lines, healthier snacking is now more convenient than ever, with affordable and delicious options that appeal to a wide variety of preferences.
I always buy a variety of these tasty Gold Emblem snacks because they are a healthier alternative and my family loves the taste.
One tip I can give when it comes to packing a snack bag for your family is to keep what’s in the bag a secret.
Offer the kids one snack choice, but don’t tell them what else you have. I find that this keeps them guessing and that they are always surprised and happy when they find out which snack they will be able to eat next.
I call it Mom’s Secret Bag O’ Snacks! :)
My kids are particularly fond of the Abound Peanut Butter & Dark Chocolate Nut Bar, and I love that each bar has 7 grams of protein.
As for me, my favorite item in Mom’s Secret Bag O’ Snacks is this bag of unsalted pistachios and almonds from Abound. I love snacking on nuts while traveling because it really helps curb my hunger without overloading me with a bunch of salt or sugar.
These Fuji Apple & Raspberry Clusters are also really wonderful and unique. You really just have to try them to understand why their texture and flavor are so wonderful. It’s also a perfect snack to give the kids during takeoff and landing while flying to help keep those ears pain-free.
I love the convenience of my local CVS, and of all the CVS stores that I can visit nationwide, while we’re on the road. Not only do they have everything we need for our travel adventures, they have unique and high-quality offerings that really make the journey even better.
