Treasuring my free time

As much as I love spending time with my kids, I also really crave my free time. In fact, I’ve found that when I make time for myself, I feel happier and less stressed. That’s not only good for me, but for my entire family, because really, who wants a cranky Mommy?
Luckily, my kids are finally at a place where they will both (usually) go to bed at around 8:00 p.m. After not sleeping at night for over a year, this new bedtime routine is like heaven to me. I totally look forward to my kids going to sleep at night, because I know I’ll have those precious hours of peace and quiet.
Moms, if your kids aren’t there yet, keep the faith—it will come soon enough!
So, what do I like to do in my precious free time? Well, sadly, I end up working during some of that time. However, I have also been making time for relaxing baths, reading, and doing things that I only did in my pre-mom life like painting my fingernails. Pretty adventurous, I know!
I also love to enjoy a sweet treat when I don’t have to share with two toddlers, and I have been loving Quaker® Chocolate Chip Cookies! I totally deserve a cookie every now and again, and the light and crispy texture paired with perfectly-chocolate chips in Quaker® Chocolate Chip Cookies really hit the spot.
Mmm, I think I need to make some me-time right now!
Quaker® Chocolate Chip Cookies allow me to be indulgent while still providing the power of Quaker® oats to fuel me for whatever the rest of the day might hold.
