Dear Crissy - Life, blogged.

What is Medifast?

So, what is Medifast? It’s a question that I’ve been asked many times over the past week. In fact, after mentioning to my friends and family that I’m starting the Medifast weight loss program, people continue to ask me that one burning question: “What is Medifast?

What is Medifast?

Well, let me answer that question for you. Medifast is a weight loss program, featuring the Medifast 5 & 1 Plan.

What is Medifast?

About Medifast 5 & 1 plan

Each day on Medifast, you eat six times — once every two or three hours. This regimen will put your body in a fat-burning state. You will lose weight quickly.

Just choose five Medifast Meals (the “5”) and one self-prepared Lean & Green Meal (the “1”). The Lean & Green Meal consists of measured portions of lean protein and non-starchy vegetables.

The Lean & Green Meal is super flexible. You can make it at home, or have it in a restaurant!

What I love most about the Medifast Meals, is that they are portable and simple to prepare. I can throw a Medifast shake or Medifast bar in my purse for an easy meal on-the-go.

Medifast Meals are safe for clients with type 2 diabetes. Many Medifast Meals are also gluten free.

I have a guy at work who lost 75 lbs three yrs ago and has kept it off. But I find (and am jealous) that it is pretty expensive for me ;-( but I wish you all the luck in the world.

Thanks for explaining that! I used to work at a weight loss clinic that sold Medi-fast before I got there. When I worked there it was just the hcg diet and it almost seems like they applied some of the same Medi-fast concepts to their hcg diet. Thanks for the morning lesson! :)

Good luck! I lost 20 pounds post-pregnancy on Medifast. It works well. But I don’t do well with the soy so I wouldn’t do it again. But I’m kinda an odd-ball there, lol.

I would love to try Medifast because of all the great things I have heard however it is just to expensive to squeeze into our budget.
