Celebrating Special Grandparents
This post is sponsored by Hallmark. Opinions are my own.
Did you know that National Grandparent’s Day is September 11th? I actually put it on my calendar last year with a reminder, so while I was in my local Walgreens today I stopped by the Grandparent’s Day cards from Hallmark.
I love picking up my cards for special occasions (or just because) at Walgreens because it’s so easy to swing in and out while picking up just the few items that I need. Plus, you really can’t beat the quality and selection of Hallmark cards at Walgreens. I’ve said it before, but it’s amazing how the right card will find you every single time.
Grandparent’s Day is a pretty special occasion for me. Having lost my grandma earlier this year, I really want to make an effort to help my kids appreciate their grandparents even more. I have to admit that my mom and dad are pretty incredible grandparents to my children, but then again, I always knew that they would be!
I’m really lucky to live close to my mom and dad, so we visit them several times a week. I’m pretty sure that my kids would just move right in with Mamaw and Papaw if they could. Those years that we have with our grandparents are unique, and I know that Evan and Kara will treasure the memories that they make with them throughout their lives.
I found some really nice Hallmark cards at Walgreens to help express how much we love Mam and Pap!
There was a nice selection of Grandparent’s Day cards from kids, including the really cute and “Fun-Derful” Mickey + Minney Mouse card I found for the kids to give to my mom and dad. I love the quality and creativity that I’ve come to expect from Hallmark cards. They are always simply the best.
I don’t really recall celebrating Grandparent’s Day much in years past, but I think it’s such a great chance for us to pause and honor our elder family members.
For many years, my grandma was like a second mother to me, and I truly value the loving mentorship that my own parents offer to my kids. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and while I’m not sure about that, I can tell you that having amazing grandparents to help raise a child is definitely a huge blessing in my life.
Be sure to pick up your Hallmark cards at Walgreens and celebrate the special grandparents in your lift this year!
