Is it a salad? Is it a dessert? No matter how you categorize this creamy grape salad recipe one thing’s certain. It’s super easy and it’s SUPER yummy!
With spring right around the corner I wanted to share a really simple family recipe that’s a perfect addition to your Easter cuisine or anytime you need to whip-up a quick dish for a potluck.
Creamy Grape Salad Recipe
In fact, while I can’t remember which great aunt it was, I know that there was someone in our family who always brought a dish similar to this creamy grape salad to family carry-ins.
This creamy grape salad recipe reminds me of growing up in the 80’s and all of the wonderful food that my grandma used to make. It has a bit of a retro feel to me which is why I usually serve it in one of my vintage Pyrex dishes.
You know, sometimes it’s good to get back to basics and any time that includes this sweet, creamy and delicious grape salad recipe I’m totally in.
I’m also loving this recipe because it’s perfect to make ahead. You’ll need to chill the grape salad before serving, so making it the night before an event is ideal.
I like to add some walnuts to our grape salad but pecans would be good, too. For those of you who are not nut-fans (and I know that there are a whole bunch of you), just leave the nuts out.
You’re not sacrificing much, because most of the goodness here is in that yummy creamy coating and the burst of sweetness you’ll enjoy each time you bite into one of those juicy red grapes.
Speaking of biting into juicy grapes, the mama bear in me is kicking in here. This is a wonderful recipe for kids (and mine love it!) but be sure to take a moment to cut the grapes in half or quarters if you’re going to be serving this dish to young children. Grapes are a huge choking hazard and I’ll probably be cutting my kids’ grapes in half until they’re 30.
You can use a pair of kitchen scissors to make quick work of this task.
I hope this delightful creamy grape salad recipe gets you in the mood for spring!
