Holiday Gift Pick: ‘Despicable Me 3 Special Edition’

The post is in partnership with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

There are movies for kids, movies for grownups, and then there are movies that EVERYONE can enjoy. Despicable Me 3 Special Edition falls into that last group. I know, because I’ve seen all three Despicable Me films and I love this franchise!

It’s why Despicable Me 3 Special Edition is definitely a holiday gift pick for me this year. It’s available on Digital November 21st, and Blu-ray & DVD December 5th. Be sure to place your pre-orders now.

Despicable Me 3 is the #1 animated comedy of the year, and I contributed to that statistic by taking the kids to see it in the theater over the summer. I just love listening to Gru (Steve Carell), and my kids are total Minions fans. In fact, I often refer to Evan and Kara as my ornery little Minions!

Even though we’ve seen the movie, I’m definitely picking up the Blu-ray when it comes out. With almost an entire hour of exclusive bonus features including an all-new mini-movie, Minion moments, and much more, Despicable Me 3 Special Edition going to make a great gift from Santa. I always love stuffing the kids’ stockings with the latest movie releases. I’ll be picking up a copy for my little niece, too.

This film really has such a great mix of action, humor and heartwarming moments. As I said, it’s one of those movies that every single person in the family can enjoy.

All The Details

Illumination, the studio that brought you SING, THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS and the DESPICABLE ME franchise, continues the adventures of Gru and his family in Despicable Me 3. After he is fired from the Anti-Villain League for failing to take down Balthazar Bratt, the latest evil mastermind to threaten humanity, Gru finds himself in the midst of a major identity crisis. But when a mysterious stranger shows up to inform Gru that he has a long-lost twin brother — a brother who desperately wishes to follow in his twin’s despicable footsteps — the former super-villain rediscovers just how good it feels to be bad. This film stars Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Trey Parker, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, Nev Scharrel, Steve Coogan, Jenny Slate and Julie Andrews.
