I smile when I think of Chex® Party Mix, and I’ll bet that many of you reading this have many fond memories of this holiday snack, too.
I know that for me, Chex® Party Mix signals Christmas in a big way, and some of my fondest memories of holiday gatherings include a big bowl of Chex® Party Mix!
In fact, I can remember that the mother of one of my best friends always brought Chex® Party Mix to our school holiday parties and now that I have my own little preschooler, I want to be that mom!
Luckily, there are many Chex® Party Mix recipes that you can make in 15 minutes with a few great ingredients and your microwave. Yes, I said your microwave!
When I saw this Chex® PB and chocolate blast recipe on the Chex® website, I knew I had to try it. My kids love the crunch of Chex® cereal, and with a little chocolate and peanut butter added to the mix I just knew this fast and festive treat would be a hit!
My guess was correct, of course. Not only was it an absolute breeze to whip up this Chex® PB and chocolate blast party mix recipe, it was completely delicious.
Also? It does feel pretty cool to be the Chex® Party Mix mom.
Don’t forget, six of the Chex® cereal varieties are gluten free (Wheat Chex® and Multi-grain Chex® are not gluten free), and all Chex® cereals have 8 grams or more whole grain per serving; at least 48 grams recommended daily! Check your labels!

Chex® Party Mix: PB & chocolate blast
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Chex® cereal 1 cup white vanilla baking chips (8 oz) 1 cup peanut butter chips 1 cup red and green candy-coated chocolate candies 1 cup dry-roasted peanuts
Instructions
1. Line 2 cookie sheets with foil or waxed paper. Place 3 cups cereal in large bowl. In small microwavable bowl, microwave white vanilla baking chips uncovered on High about 1 minute or until chips can be stirred smooth. Pour melted chips over cereal in bowl; stir to evenly coat. Spread mixture in single layer on one of the cookie sheets. Refrigerate 5 minutes or until set.
2. Repeat the above using the remaining cereal and the peanut butter chips; refrigerate 5 minutes or until set.
3. Gently break up coated cereal into large bowl. Add candy and peanuts; stir gently to combine. Store in airtight container.
