Dear Crissy

Beautiful fall moments

I don’t make huge photo posts with the kids as often as I used to, but, the fall photo round-up has become a bit of a tradition. You really can’t miss when you plop two cute children into a pile of colorful leaves.

Also? My, my. How things can change in a year.

Creating fall memories

Last year, Kara really wasn’t too thrilled with the whole fall leaves scene. This year, as you can see, it was a great time for both kids.

Actually, Kara wasn’t even walking last year at this time, so, it was really fun to see her running, jumping and playing right along with Evan.

It may seem like my kids love being photographed, but that’s definitely not the case!

Kara is pretty tolerant of the camera, but, Evan is a different story. He runs from me when I’m trying to take his photo, and I have to make serious bribes to get him to sit next to his sister for even a split second for a photo.

It’s like pulling teeth, so, I was super thrilled when I found this cute shot where both kids are at least looking in the general direction of the camera. Sorta. Anyway, it’s still a sweet shot.

Creating fall memories

The evening sun is so beautiful in the fall.

Again with the light. It really makes me want to photograph everything.

Creating fall memories

This photo of Evan just tears me up. I guess I missed the part where he turned 16. Amazing.

Creating fall memories

As each year passes, it becomes painfully obvious that childhood is fleeting. The seasons roll up on us faster and faster. Bodies morph from cherubic to lanky, and personalities mature and transform, too.

It’s happening right before your eyes and it’s happening right this very second.

Grab them up, squeeze them and just feel it for a moment. Feel it and appreciate it every single day.

Creating fall memories

I hope Evan and Kara remain close throughout their lives. I’m so glad that they have each other.
