Medifast results week 2

Today, I hopped on the scale to find out how much weight, if any, I have lost on the Medifast plan this week. I have to admit, I was nervous getting on the scale because I haven’t felt fantastic this week.

Last week I lost 8.8 lbs., which was a bit shocking to me.

So, this week I lost…1.8 lbs.

Yeah. I have to admit, it’s a little less thrilling than the 8 lbs. I dropped last week, however, a loss is a loss and I know that 1-2 lbs. per week is more in the normal and healthy range.

The fatigue that I anticipated in Medifast week 1 has actually hit me like a ton of bricks in week 2. I just feel wiped out, and I’ve been struggling with the desire to veer off the plan and just EAT — but I haven’t.

The other thing that PROBABLY inhibited my weight loss this week was skimping on the water, and drinking too much Diet Coke.

I know, Diet Coke is pretty much the devil but I’ve been craving it more than usual this week. It’ my goal for week 3 to limit Diet Coke and drink much, much more water.

Start weight: 180 lbs. on 11/30/2012
Lost week 1: 8.8 lbs.
Lost week 2: 1.8 lbs.
Total lost so far: 10.6 lbs.
Current weight: 169.4 lbs.

I know at this point I just need to keep moving forward.

New foods from Medifast

I plan to go into more detail about the foods soon, what I like, and what I don’t like. I did want to tell you about some brand new foods launched this month though! One of them is REALLY EXCITING — macaroni and cheese!

Medifast Macaroni and Cheese

When you haven’t had pasta for a while, the sight of macaroni and cheese is pretty amazing. The Medifast Macaroni and Cheese smells and tastes a lot like Kraft Mac N’ Cheese. It is very important to follow the cooking instructions on the packet, and to let it sit to thicken up.

It tastes pretty good to me, I will absolutely be ordering more next month!

Medifast also introduced the new Lean and Green Meal Helpers, including a Brown Gravy Mix and a Fajita Seasoning Mix. I haven’t tried these yet, but I LOVE that I will be able to use these to spice up my Lean and Green meals!

  1. I’m really trying hard with this new life style change, but this first week, I’ve been so sick, Lets see today is day 6. Tonight I’ve a nasty headache too. Does anyone know why our body reacts so to this change?
    I have heard that the pro-biotics will help when I get them. What’s the deal?

  6. I lost more than 80.5 with MediFast in 2007.
    Sadly, that last half pound was my gall bladder.
    Be careful on any low fat diet. Make sure you get enough healthful fat in your diet every day. MediFast allows for that, but I neglected it. My fault, not theirs.

  7. Yeah that’s how diets always start at first. I lost 10 pounds in 1 month, 3 pounds the next. It made me give up my low carb diet. I think it’s mostly just water weight, but congrats on your success! Keep it up!

  10. keep on trucking girl! You can do it! I have never tried this particular weight loss product but I HAVE lost weight on WW and on my own simply watching fats and sugars..something I truly love! Hang in can do it!!

  11. While 1.8 lbs doesn’t seem like much, it is actually good. And to have lost over 10 lbs in 2 weeks is great. I am trying to lose weight, need to start working a little harder at it, but I have been sick and have problems with my joints so I have not been able to exercise much recently. Need to get back to it and hope that my doctors will find out what is causing my extreme achy/swollen joints and fatigue.

  18. When I first started losing weight (just diet and excercise, no other help) I was losing .5 – 1# a week – then it quickly moved up to 5#/week. It really all evens out. WATER, WATER, WATER. Just and FYI – diet coke has 30mg of sodium – Diet Dr. Pepper has 0!

  21. Great job. Just be very careful. My MIL did medifast and got quite sick. All the soy in the foods messed with her body. She lost a ton of weight but was sick after. she later regained the weight and is now losing again with natural, whole foods. I am not trying to be a downer, just letting you know our experience with the products. Best of luck!
