Small Changes Can Make A Huge Impact

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Splenda. The opinions and text are all mine.

I’m always inspired to make healthy changes to my diet and exercise routine in the summer. As an Ohioan, it can feel like the sun doesn’t shine for months, so when I’m able to soak-up those warm, motivating summer rays I’m more than ready to work toward my healthy lifestyle goals.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that setting unrealistic goals is, well… UNREALISTIC! I’ve found the most success when I’ve focused on two or three simple changes to incorporate into my daily routines.

This summer, my goals are to walk 10,000 steps or more every day, to cook dinner at home for my family five days a week, and to replace sugar with delicious SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener.

Did you notice how simple my goals are? They may seem basic, but I think that these small changes are going to make a big impact on my health and wellness.

Just replacing sugar with SPLENDA® Naturals alone is HUGE for me.

If you haven’t tried SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener, I urge you to give it a try. This is not like other stevia sweeteners, as it doesn’t have that bitter aftertaste.

I really couldn’t figure out why this product tasted so much better than other stevia sweeteners until I did a little research and found out that SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener is made with stevia extract Reb D, and other stevia sweeteners use Reb A, known for the bitter aftertaste.

In other words, SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener is truly different, and you can quickly discern that with your first taste.

I’m drinking a big warm mug of coffee with SPLENDA® Naturals right now and the only thing I can taste is my delicious coffee with a splash of cream and a lovely touch of sweetness.

The fact that I can get that same sweet flavor I’m used to with a 0 calorie sweetener containing nothing artificial is just amazing. Honestly, I can’t think of a good reason to go back to regular sugar, which is why I keep about a dozen packets of SPLENDA® Naturals in my purse at all times!

The really incredible thing about SPLENDA® Naturals is that you can use it in so many ways. Having just discovered the product, I’ve been using it in my tea, coffee, and cereal instead of sugar. I’m planning to get more creative over the summer as I work toward meeting my health and fitness goals, and I plan to share some recipes with you that I’ve made using SPLENDA® Naturals in the coming months.

Oh, and I am also really loving that I can use this product in baking. Can you imagine how many calories you could save by replacing sugar with this product in your favorite baked goods and desserts?

In addition to my big sugar swap, I’m also focusing on walking more every day. When you track the number of steps you’re taking, it can be really eye-opening.

Since I work from home at a desk, I found there were days when I was nearly sedentary. That’s not a good thing! I’m getting alerts now that tell me to get up a move every hour. I can’t wait to see how much more energized I’m feeling after meeting my step goals for a few weeks.

I’m also committing to cooking more at home, where I can choose more fresh, whole foods ingredients to incorporate into our meals. I also find that portion control is much easier when I cook at home.

As a busy mother, it can be so easy to rely on takeout. I’m making the effort to cook real food at home at least five nights a week this summer. I think it’s going to be really transformative for our whole family!

Be sure you’re signed up for my newsletter so you can stay up-to-date with my healthy changes. I’ll be doing an update post soon.

Are you making any small changes toward a healthier you this summer?
