Small Changes Can Make A Huge Impact

I’m always inspired to make healthy changes to my diet and exercise routine in the summer. As an Ohioan, it can feel like the sun doesn’t shine for months, so when I’m able to soak-up those warm, motivating summer rays I’m more than ready to work toward my healthy lifestyle goals.
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that setting unrealistic goals is, well… UNREALISTIC! I’ve found the most success when I’ve focused on two or three simple changes to incorporate into my daily routines.
This summer, my goals are to walk 10,000 steps or more every day, to cook dinner at home for my family five days a week, and to replace sugar with delicious SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener.

Since I work from home at a desk, I found there were days when I was nearly sedentary. That’s not a good thing! I’m getting alerts now that tell me to get up a move every hour. I can’t wait to see how much more energized I’m feeling after meeting my step goals for a few weeks.
I’m also committing to cooking more at home, where I can choose more fresh, whole foods ingredients to incorporate into our meals. I also find that portion control is much easier when I cook at home.
As a busy mother, it can be so easy to rely on takeout. I’m making the effort to cook real food at home at least five nights a week this summer. I think it’s going to be really transformative for our whole family!
