I’d like to thank Skintimate® Shave Gel for sponsoring this post.
Warmer weather is finally here, so it’s time to pull out those colorful shorts and floral skirts. Not to mention, you may actually find yourself in a swimsuit soon enough!
When it comes to my skin care routine, I always switch gears with the changing seasons. In the summer, I pay special attention to my legs—for obvious reasons!
Keep reading for my top 5 tips to achieve gorgeous, glowing legs this summer!
It Starts with Skintimate®
I have a little confession to make. I used to be guilty of rushing through my shaving routine with soap and water—especially during the winter months when my legs were in hiding.
As I’ve gotten older, however, I’m really quite particular about how I treat my legs while shaving.
Since I’m prone to dry skin, I always use Skintimate® Dry Skin Shave Gel. This ultra-moisturizing protective gel gives me a leg-up on dry skin and helps me create a perfect, healthy smooth palette on my legs.
It contains moisturizing lanolin and Vitamin E, and I’m honestly so in love with the way this product makes my legs feel.
Also, I don’t worry about missing a spot because the Skintimate® Shave Gel shows me exactly where my razor has been, and more importantly, where it hasn’t so there are no do-overs required!
Summer isn’t a time to slack on your moisturizing routine. The sun can dry your skin, so be sure to use Skintimate® Dry Skin Shave Gel while shaving. It’s an absolute staple in my skin care routine!
When we think about exercise, we often look at the cardiovascular benefits, but, did you know that exercise increases our blood flow, which nourishes our skin cells?
Adding some simple leg exercises to your daily routine will strengthen and tone your legs to help them look healthy and gorgeous this summer.
Try taking the stairs instead of the elevator when possible. You can even take breaks during your work day and slide a few squats in to get that blood pumping and tone leg muscles.
Every step matters!
Another way to get the blood flowing in your legs is to start a dry brushing routine. You can easily find appropriate brushes for this by doing a web search.
Dry brushing is a great way to pamper your legs while also giving yourself a mini-massage. It’s also great for exfoliating dead, dull skin cells and for increasing blood flow and circulation in your legs.
I typically dry-brush my legs twice a week, before my morning shower.
I simply adore spending time in the sun during the summer months, but I’m also vigilant about using proper sun protection on my skin.
This is such an important step in your summer skin care routine, and you don’t want to neglect your legs when you’re applying sunscreen.
Opt for a self-tanner or spray tan to achieve that sun-kissed glow on your legs. I use an SPF 30 before leaving the house every day. I want to do everything I can to preserve the youthful glow on my legs as long as possible, and part of that requires protecting my skin from the sun’s damaging rays!
Moisturizing with Skintimate Shave Gel is a fantastic first step toward having lovely legs this summer, but, you’ll also want to focus on your overall health and wellness.
Our skin is our body’s largest organ, and the best way to keep your skin looking and feeling healthy is to eat nutritious, whole foods and drink plenty of water.
I recommend keeping a water bottle with you at all times and drinking often throughout the day to keep your body well-hydrated. This is especially important during the hot summer months and during times when you’re more active outdoors.
I hope you’ll take a moment to incorporate these tips into your daily skin care routine. Your legs will certainly thank you for it!
