If you’re on Instagram you’ve probably noticed some gorgeous images of smoothie bowls as you scroll down your feed. As I mentioned yesterday, I’m a big fan of the smoothie bowl and this bright summertime smoothie bowl recipe is no exception.
This vibrant smoothie bowl is sure to put a big cheery smile on your face. The smoothie is loaded with natural sweetness and packed with healthy goodness.
The frozen/cold coconut oil will add a nice creamy texture to everything.
We’re heading into august and back-to-school time, but you still have the chance to make the most of these beautiful summer days. Get outside and enjoy the sun, go to the beach, swim in the back yard with your kids and take the time to treat yourself with this sweet and delicious tropical summertime smoothie.

- A few golden yellow small tomatoes2 tablespoons of coconut oil1.5 cups of frozen fruit mix, I used pineapple and mangosplash of warm water
- For the topping:
- 1 tablespoon hemp hearts1 tablespoon chia seeds ½ teaspoon edible/food grade lavender a few edible violets
- (I picked these up at our local farmers market. Not all flowers are edible so do be sure to double check before you consume anything from your garden or flowers that you might find along your way).
Run the warm over the frozen fruit and let it sit for a few minutes in your blender before whipping together with the coconut oil and tomatoes. If you don’t have quite enough time or are trying to sneak in some of the extra healthy stuff you can always add the chia seeds and hemp hearts to the smoothie right now. Blend everything together until you have a thick but smooth texture. Pour into your favorite bowl, if you’ve waited, you can add the toppings at this point and enjoy right away.
