Turmeric Smoothie

If you’re a regular reader, you know that I’ve been experimenting with turmeric in quite a few recipes lately. This easy turmeric smoothie is yet another great way to incorporate turmeric into your diet.

Turmeric is such a powerful spice, and people from all around the world have utilized it for centuries. There has to be something to that, right?

Speaking of inflammation, I recently started suffering from trigger thumb. I was waking up every day with a swollen, achy thumb that I could barely bend.

Turmeric Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 tangerine (or other smaller citrus fruit of your preference)
  • 1 teaspoon New Chapter Fermented Turmeric Booster Powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 2/3 cup cantaloupe, chopped
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • splash of orange juice or water

Instructions:

  1. Add all of the items to the blender pitcher, starting with the softest items closest to the blades.  Layering from softest to hardest will help everything blend together faster and be easier for your blender.  Turn to medium high and blend until the smoothie is smooth and the consistency you prefer.
  2. This is enough for one larger meal-replacing smoothie or two smaller snack sized smoothies.
