Christmas Crunch Salad with broccoli, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes and red onion in a white bowl

Ingredients

Salad

  • 4 cups broccoli florets cut into bite-size pieces
  • 4 cups cauliflower florets cut into bite-size pieces
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 small red onion chopped

Dressing

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, toss together the broccoli, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes and red onion.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar and vinegar until smooth.
  • Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss until everything is coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Dry the vegetables: Pat the broccoli and cauliflower dry after rinsing so the dressing doesn’t get watery.
Don’t skip the chill: Two hours in the fridge lets the dressing soak in and the flavors come together.
Storage: Keep leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Make ahead: Make it up to 1 day ahead and give it a good stir before serving.
